Retreading old ground
This is quite an unusual holiday phenomenon that works in two very different ways. Firstly it is about returning to a place where you have previously holidayed. Maybe you and your family, or you and your friends, loved it so much that a second holiday was planned, booked and organised before you had even left. The second part, though, is a little more unique and a little bit more strange for those that are experiencing it.
My girlfriend is currently making her way to her holiday destination for a week, and has just touched down in Palma, which is in Majorca. Two years ago we flew into the same destination to start our week long cruise around the Med. She’s in the same airport, passing the same staff, going to the same coach stop and ticking all those reminiscing boxes. The coach, too, is even passing some of the same places that we went to. Foreign deja vu is even more peculiar.
